Yo yo yo, fresh off an excellent weekend of unusually uncrowded surf and it looking like more on the way! Thanks again for everyone's love last Thursday night at the Weisbecker/Zen and Zero event. Speaking of scandal, came across this in today's NY Post:
October 22, 2007 -- BUNKER Spreckels - the hunky surf champ and stepson of Clark Gable who turned into a debauched jet-setter - is hot property 30 years after his death of a heart attack at age 27. Not only has Taschen published a new book about Spreckels' life of excess - he claims to have "nailed 64 chicks in one week" - but several Hollywood studios are interested in doing a biopic. It certainly would be colorful. In "Bunker Spreckels: Surfing's Divine Prince of Decadence," Art Brewer and C.R. Stecyk III reveal an unpublished interview with Spreckels. "I suppose I was the epitome of that whole Rolling Stones type of philosophy, Do as much as you can now because you may be dead tomorrow," he is quoted. Spreckels - whose mom, Kay, was Gable's fifth wife - also says he met Satan in 1970 while under the influence of peyote, pot and hash.
Been amping on things flow with the new Maya Hayuk book, Just Good Vibes which features the mural-ing of Molluskine and the seeeekest drawings, paintings and such. Fellow SF-rad chick Clare E. Rojas also has a new book called, Blue Deer and Red Fox which is killer-kute for children and adults alike.
UPS Ron just rolled up with some new DVD's:
Invasion From Planet C (Mike Black)
Filthy Habits (Billabong/Weaver and co.)
Pump (Billabong/Weaver, Wills, Neu and co.)
The Cosmic Children (Hal Jepson)

A Matter Of Style (Steve Soderberg)
5 Summer Stories (Mac/Freeman)
Morning Of The Earth (Alby Falzon)
See ya'll down the line...
