"Deep River/Shawn Pryce hails from the Parish of St.James and grew up in Westmoreland. My earliest influence in music were some local acts called Busty Brown and the Blues Busters. While attending school at Clarendon College I began listening to other artists like the Wailers, Heptones, Paragons, and the Techniques. After graduation from high school I began playing football for Real Mona. I met Gille, Bob Marley's friend who later introduced me to Bob, I started to play foot ball for Tuff Gong International Football Team which is Bob's football team. During this time I did my first recording at Black Ark Studio owned by "Lee Scratch Perry" The title of the song is "Sunshine" The song was also produced by Gille. I had on board at the time musicians like Tyrone Downie, Robby Shakespear, Leroy Horse Mouth Wallace. I was later involvd with a band as lead singer/song writer, the name was "Souls of Nowe" we recorded an album at Music Mountain Studios in 1984, tragically the produced died and the project went cold. The River keeps on running and I migrated to New Jersey and continued my music the current project Deep River Project; Vol.1 is a collaboration with people such as Courtny Panton of New Kingston Studio, Jill Weiss of Upful One Studio, Peter "Bear" Smith, Electric Dread, Congo, Leroy X, and Andy Bashford. CHECK IT OUT......IT'S REFRESHING, IT'S REAL ROOTS ROCK, CHECK IT.......BLESSED LOVE."
