Buddy Bye

The grand thaw has commenced with the temperatures slowly rising. BK mind surf styles courtesy of Jeffery...which way you go? Democrat or Republican?

If your in the hood tonight, come out to Cinders Gallery for their FUNeral. Brooklyn is sadly losing a wonderful gallery which has given so much vibrancy to the neighborhood. Come pay respect before the space gets turned into a Whole Foods or a baby stroller boutique.

What is Life?

Shout out to celestial Maggie. Home girl passed on the wiz that tonight is the winter solstice along with a lunar eclipse, which hasn't happened together since 1638! Must be why there were waves today. Posse was in effect on the coastal front. The phone has been ringing off the hook from the land of the rising sun as word travels fast about centerfold stars getting jetty to jetty tube rides. Proof is in the pudding...

Big Ups to Wolfy and the Holly Jolly Sabbath crew who hosted their annual holiday party of debauchery with a full Black Sabbath vinyl set all night, an upside down Christmas tree and unexpected pyrotechnics from Bubb's.
Pentagram by Maya Hayuk

Petro dropped off some kindness to the shop over the weekend...

6'2 Frocket... $old!

... and a "not you average 6'1 thruster" with glassed on fins. Wide point up forward giving way to a wider outline and extra volume distributed towards the nose of the board for better paddling and glide under the front foot. With a design like this, you can go shorter in length in bigger surf...

... some lightly used fare in the shop. 9'7" Christenson log jamz. $850.

On the shop front, R4 M and L back in stock. Xcel M Drylock back in stock along with M gloves and in demand size 10 booties.

Take off that crown, you've been robbed

It's been quiet down on River St. with this early season blast of cold air. The photo shoots have stopped, no music videos, just the dog walker keeping it real.  River St. did enjoy a sprucing up from some possible R.S.L.A. recruits...

On the shop front, a beautiful 6'8 Choice Pavel joined the racks. Top deck gloss, bottom deck sanded. Fully equipped with glassed on Larry Gephart bamboo fins. $800 steez!

For the nocturnal crowd, get your groove on at the East River Bar tonight with some positive vibrations from 10 -2 am....

Petro is coming to town this Saturday (12/18) to drop off and pick up ding repairs. He will also be blessing the shop with two new proper shred sleds. Support the home grown!

Peace!

Teenage Wasteland

First light on the silver bullet venturing towards far reaches of the metro area...

Despite official's efforts to clean up the Queens County neighborhoods, there are still a few "hookers" to get down with at select dead ends. Three to four Gino's Ices today shifting around. In a city of millions, and alone in the ocean...

Word on the street was the surf was so good in the Garden State that it required a post-surf pie Monday night. Epic tall tales of serious cover-ups and backside tube rides. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

... Art Brewer has joined the blog ranks and you can check him out here...

... On the shop front, a small run of Xcel's newest venture, the Power Seam Drylock is en route. The suit features a new stitch free system. Stay tuned for the drop. Also locked stocked and loaded on new surf cinema such as Stoked and Broke, Who is J.O.B., Innersections, and My Eye's Won't Dry Trilogy!

Peace!

With Pulp

A strange glow came over the shop late Wednesday afternoon just before dark and it seemed like the front rolled through with just enough time for the "clued in" surfer to pounce. Tuning the channel to Big Brother revealed the home front a bit disheveled for the camera while not too distant shores were vogueing harder than Anna Wintour.

Brass Monkey extraordinaire and NYC connoisseur Sam I Am flossing hard for the big screen where he can be seen grabbing super models into the back of vans and sippin' handsomely with an accompanying renegade firework celebration...

Other than directing low budget college films, amassing an impressive quiver, hobnobbing with the hob nobs, real estate investing, and possessing some unmarketable skills, from time to time he can be seen at local beaches participating in community service leading through example in how to properly navigate the green room. EV Representer!

On the shop front, new TSJ vol. 19 #6 is out, re-stock of 5mm 3 and 5 finger gloves, booties, squid lids and... Handplanes by Danny Hess along with swim fins from Da Fin. Board bag hassle free!

Peace & Aloha!
